A Japanese classic, Matcha is traditional used for Japanese tea ceremonies. In recent years this tea has also become a popular tea for lattes and smoothies.

This specific Premium Matcha makes for an aromatic green tea best served on its own, but can be used in lattes too.

Directions:

1.*put one level teaspoon full of Matcha powder into a bowl

2.*add freshly boiled but cooled water (60-80C)

3. froth up with a bamboo whisk

* important tip: Tea before water when brewing any type of green teas. Otherwise tea leaves burn and the taste can become ruined. Also, lower temp then brewing black teas is strongly recommended.

Update after 2 months: I judged this matcha as "premium" grade which is generally directly under "ceremonial" grade. Was told by staff it's a ceremonial grade. For ceremonial grade I can't say the quality is adequate even at this price. Even in Oat milk and sweetened it does have quite a bit of bitterness and lacks the usual nutty notes. Still great bang for buck if you view it as a low grade premium but it shouldn't be advertised as anything but that.

Great bang for buck. Kind staff. I had last minute questions and possible adjustments with my order, the staff kindly worked with me to make everything work. They even included a sampler of a tea I haven't tried yet that looks delicious! As usual, I never have to worry about the amount advertised vs what I get (my bag had 100g and then some) like I do with the current grocery store monopoly. Can't wait for them to open back up in September!
