About The Artist:

Tom Thomson (1877-1917)

The emergence of Tom Thomson’s distinctive nature painting style mirrors his path in life. He began as a letterist doing precise, constrained work, but developed into a pioneer of bold outdoor art. Canada’s Group of 7 painting movement officially began upon the untimely death of Thomson, which spurred his artist friends to pursue his vision. Thomson’s most famous works colourfully capture vistas in Ontario’s Algonquin Park, North of Toronto.

A Work of Art...

...and a great way to drink coffee, as are all McIntosh Mugs, of which we own several. But we broke our mug that had Thomas Thomson's "The West Wind" on it, one of our favorites, In trying to replace it, I found that McIntosh is no longer making it in the "Grande" (19 oz) size. Next I learned it wasn't available on either eBay or Amazon. With further searching online, I found that the cup was available at Blue Teapot, and placed an order. It arrived fully intact, having been impressively (and intelligently) prepared for safe mailing. There was also a nice (brief) cover note, and a request that we consider leaving a review, something I considered but neglected to do until now, when I'm making up for it with this long-winded review. We live in California, but have great memories of several trips to Vancouver over the years, and when we return we'll be sure to visit Blue Teapot for the first time. (As a US citizen, I have to admit that we were fortunate to have broken the cup and then located Blue Teapot just before those currently in charge here instigated a tariff conflict which may at least temporarily impact the ability of customers in the US to take full advantage of Blue Teapot's mail order service.)
